Yesterday was the first day of the European Short Course Swimming Championships which last till Sunday the 25th. Yesterday's finals were the 400m Free (M), 200m Back (M), 200m I.M. (W), 200m Fly (W), 200m I.M. (M), 50m Free (M), 50m Breast (W), 4x50m I.M. (M), and the 4x50m Free (W).
The most noticable performance was made by R. Kawecki who made a new championships record in the 200m Back (M), swimming the distance in 1:48.51. The national team of Denmark (1:38.10) won the women's relay with Finland taking the second place (1:38.13) in a close fight.
Today's finals were the 800m Free (W), 400m I.M. (M), 200m Breast (W), 100m Breast (M), 100m Free (W), 100m Back (W), 100m Fly (M), 50m Fly (W), 50m Back (M), and the 4x50m I.M. (Mixed). During the second day of the championship there was no record broken. I can't say that there were any noticable performances although the two first winners at the 50m Back (M) were pretty close to each other and put on a good race (J. Stravius swam in 23.28 and G. Barnea in 23.46).
